My Understanding and Harvest of Western Culture -----with a view to Renaissance As we all know, the Renaissance is very important in the history of western world. Not only historian but also writer praise the things which were left that time, for the sculpture《David》 by Michelangelo, the oil paint《the last supper》by Da Vinci. Now, I have learned the course about the culture of western world, so I have a new review on, The Renaissance. Now, let me tell you what I think of, the Renaissance after I learned the course. The topic of the Renaissance is to preach humanistic spirit. In the long history of the medieval times, Christian theology preach the thought of abstinence .In their opinion, people need to limit their desire and believe in God, then they can’t pursuit anything, including spite , sexual desire and so on. In a world people only can a pursuit spiritual need, that’s to devote them to God so that they can go to lineage after they die. As Christian was the ruling power in the history of medieval times, people have no doubt about the theory of Christian. But a plague broke off in the fourteenth century. In the plague many people lost their life though they were faithful to God .As a result, people started to not believe in the God. Also they found the thought of abstinence was not so use to relieve their pain of the flesh .All of these support mass basis and Ideological basis for The Renaissance. The great people pay all of their focus to people’ disappointment at the thought of abstinence, so they created many works to preach their view to libber human nature and Advocate people to experience all human nature desire. Now, many people consider the Renaissance as such a very great event that we think all of the points it advocated are right. But now in my opinion, the some of points are certain to be ture; on the other hand some are too radical. Now let me tell you which parts I think are tight and which parts I think are wrong.
