layer layer Abstract This thesis is focused on discussing the construction of walls, some issues pertinent to which are advanced respectively: disparate contingence and cognizant derivation exerting impacts on the construction of walls, and the two typical construction methods for walls, that is, stratified walls and non-stratified walls, by addressing the central conception “layer”. The nucleus of the thesis resides in the second chapter primarily to clarify the difference and correlation between stratified walls and non-stratified walls. A special phenomenon, that is, overlap between layers, resulting from the distinction of layers, is visually discriminated as transparency and shade. We take into account walls with distinctive opacity, therefore, as opaque, translucent as well as transparent ones, for further discussion on combination
