The bamboo preservation working has an important significant and will have a broad prospect. The development trends of are as followings: to reduce the nutrition content, improve the penetration of bamboo and to find a material that has the good performances, such as in good penetration, cheapness, environment friendliness, low toxicity and so on; Meanwhile, the research direction of the bamboo preservatives should be paid attention on new treatment methods which could enhance the penetration of the bamboo preservatives and the reducing leachability of bamboo preservatives.
