Tokyo University of Science, Chiba 278 8510, Japan) Abstract: In this paper ultmi ate perform ance of rubber bearings for buildings is investigated. The three types of nat ural rubber bearing, high damping rubber bearing and lead rubber bearing are considered, the data of ultmi ate per formance for the rubber bearings are analyzed. In addition, a set of full scale expermi ents on the ultmi ate perform ance for these types of the rubber bearings is conducted. The analysis and the expermi ents above mentioned have verified the predicted formulas for the ultmi ate performance of the rubber bearing proposed from ISO.
