In the face of the unexpected global economic downturn, strict cost control seems to be the only solution for companies to
pull through the difficult times. However, cost reduction has little in common with the everyday cost cutting efforts that
managers are familiar with. The objective of conventional cost cutting is to reap quick savings through expedient cutbacks in
various services and activities. In strategic cost-reduction, however, the emphasis is on competitiveness rather than on quick
savings. This programme will teach participants to ask, How can we gain cost advantages over our main competitors?
instead of, Where can we save money?.
Objective
The primary objective of this intensive three-day programme is to introduce the most advanced strategic and cost analysis
principles and techniques in modern managerial accounting. The programme will focus on three issues: the strategic cost
measurement system, activity-based cost and management, and leveraging the value chain.
Who Should Attend
This programme is designed for middle to senior managers who are in charge of their respective company’s strategic
decisions and the implementation of these decisions. Participants could include CEOs, CFOs, Chief Accountants and
