What happens when you close a job? WIP calculates final costs and variances for the job. During close, the job status becomes Pending Close. After process succeeds, the job status becomes Closed - No Charges Allowed WIP removes any remaining costs from the job by creating journal entries to the variance accounts. Remaining balance is zero. What should you do before closing a job? Verify that all transactions were performed correctly because WIP cannot close a job with pending transaction. Close Discrete Job. You cannot close jobs by simply changing their status. You must launch a concurrent process using the Close Discrete Form. Remaining costs in the job are removed and the job becomes untransactable. Purge closed job. At some point, you may want to purge your database tables, to free space. A cocurrent process optionally purges all details, move and resource transactions for closed jobs.
