T presents some photos and asks Ss to guess what jobs they do. 2. T elects adjectives from Ss to describe personalities required for these jobs. Step 2 Ss complete each sentence with a word from the key words box. While-listening Step 3 Ss go over the Listening Strategies and get some more new words related to the discussion. Step 4 Ss listen to the class discussion, finding out what jobs are mentioned. Step 5 Ss listen for the second time and answer the questions in Ex. 4. Step 6 1. Ss listen for the 3nd time and note down speakers’ opinions about the characteristics by completing the notes. 2. T demonstrates by completing the first job with the whole class and Ss proceed with the rest. 3. To make sure that all Ss can take down the information, T needs to break the listening into several sections and play the tape two or three times. 4. Ss check the notes in groups. Then T presents the notes for Ss’ reference. Post-listening Step 8 Ss work in groups and talk about jobs, using the words and expressions to express their opinions Homework P56–Ex. 1
