11级英语专业实践（读书报告）指导要求 一、指导思想 英语专业实践（读书报告）是英语专业实践环节重要教学手段之一，目的在于检查学生的英语阅读能力、写作能力和对基础阶段所学课程的掌握情况，提高学生综合运用知识的能力。 二、时间 读书报告在每届本科生的第4学期期中开始，为期5周，第17周完成读书报告的成绩评定和成绩登录。学生完成读书报告并考核通过者，获得2学分。 三、读书报告基本要求 1、?内容要求：英文撰写。内容包括： I. Introduction In the introduction part, information about the book, the author, and his times should be covered. A brief account of the author’s life should be given together with a description of his times. The latter should include the circumstances that led to the writing of the book under discussion and the historical and social background related to the content of the book. II. The Story or A Summary of the Book A summary should be self-contained, clear and easy to understand. (Comments on and criticisms of the book should not be mixed with the summary; they can be left to the third part.) The summary of a novel or a play is usually written in the present tense, or sometimes in the tense of the original work. III. Comments or My Views on the Book In this part, the writer expresses his or her own views on the book, names its merits and demerits, and discusses its relevance to the present time. The discussion should of course center on the content of the book, the author’s style and techniques of writing, if interesting, can also be touched upon. 2、阅读目标：英语国家的英文长篇小说一部，具体作品由指导老师根据英语专业教学大纲书目或本人研究领域确定。 3、篇幅：不少于1500英文单词。 ??? 4、?格式：A4纸打印，页面设置为：左2.5， 右2.5， 上2.5，下2.5，行距1.5，读书报告题目3号字，正文小4号字。英文字体为TIMES NEW ROMAN，封面统一按照学院模板设计。 四、指导过程要求 要求指导教师为学生认真选择所读书目，对学生上交的读书报告认真批改，提出具体的指导意见。从学生完成初稿到最后定稿应不少于两稿。 五、读书报告成绩 ??? 由指导教师评定，成绩分为优秀、良好、中等、及格、不及格五个等级。 外文学院英文系 2013年4月
