It refers to the increasing integration of economies around the world, particularly through trade and financial flows. The term sometimes also refers to the movement of people (labor) and knowledge (technology) across international borders.. At its most basic, there is nothing mysterious about globalization. The term has come into common usage since the 1980s, reflecting technological advances that have made it easier and quicker to complete international transactions—both trade and financial flows. Some Important Organizations Contributing to Globalization(1) The World Trade Organization (WTO) was established in 1995 to administer the rules of international trade agreed to by its 123 member countries. These rules have been ratified by the parliaments of all members. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) was established in the wake of the World War II in 1946 to promote international cooperation on finance. . Some Important Organizations Contributing to Globalization(2) The World Bank provides loans to poor countries for development projects.
