Dept. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Kanagawa Institute of Technology 1030 Shimo-Ogino, Atsugi-shi Kanagawa, Japan, Abstract This paper evaluate the driver acceptance performance of a crossing collision prevention system (for short CCPS) which shares in-vehicle information and other vehicles’ information acquired by in-vehicle obstacle sensors via an inter-vehicle communication network. The evaluation is performed using traffic-flow videos at a blind T-junction . In the evaluation, subjects were shown videos with various parameters, and they answered a questionnaire. The questionnaire result shows that the driver acceptance of the CCPS that shares only the information of vehicles with an on-board unit (OBU) is sensitive to variation in the OBU penetration rate. On the other hand, the CCPS that shares information on not only OBU vehicles but also vehicles without an OBU detected using in-vehicle obstacle-detection sensors shows stable, high acceptance when the OBU penetration rate exceeds 60%.
