Understand the functions performed by the person and his or her department.
Understand the interactions among the processes performed by the person and his or her:
Upstream and downstream departments/processes/functions within the company, its divisions, and locations
Suppliers and customers, if applicable
Identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
Help prioritize reengineering efforts.
UNDERSTANDING OF ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. What is the intended function of the persons department?
2. Which business processes are performed within the persons function/department?
3. Definition of customers (external and internal) of the process.
4. What are the links between/among the persons processes and others outside the function?
5. How are priorities set and adjusted?
6. How often are they changed? For what reason? By whom?

WEAKNESSES OF EACH PROCESS
8. What does the person think he or she does poorly or not so well?
9. What are the specifics concerning what the person does that seem unnecessarily complex?
