The teachers n ame is Mr. Davies. dia ne: Mr. Davies? rob: Yes, he isnt Chin ese, obviously, but hes flue nt in Chin ese. And theres an assista nt teacher called Miss Wang. She IS Chin ese. Were going to see her once a week. dia ne: And what do you think? rob: Well, lear ning Chin ese isnt going to be easy — but the first less on was very enjoyable — I liked it a lot. Mr. Davies gave us a lot of en courageme nt — he made us feel really good about being there. The most importa nt thing at the begi nning is pronun ciati on, gett ing the sounds right ——and he was very good at correct ion — he said it did nt matter if we made mistakes. I think we all made a lot of progress ——in just an hour! dia ne: Thats great. rob: What about Spa nish? Did you start yet? dia ne: Yes, we did. The teacher is ni ce, but I already speak some Spanish and the rest of the class are really beginners. I misunderstood the teacher — I thought she said the class was for people who already speak Spanish. Im not sure if rm going to make much progress. rob: Oh, Im sure things will improve. dia ne: Maybe — actually, I was a bit disappo in ted — she expla ined everyth ing in En glish. rob: Oh, thats too bad.
