Wealth is the measure of success A: Oh, monika, where did you go last evening? I really worried about you. B: Oh, I’m sorry that I forgot to tell you where I was. Um…in fact, I join a party last night, and I stayed in a hotel nearby. A: You should tell me before you go, don’t do this again. By the way, what kind of the party did you go ? In my opinion, wealth is the measure of success. A:oh, why? B:Well ,I think…..Don’t you think so ? A: I’m sorry that I can’t agree with you. I can’t regard wealth as the only standard of success. I agree part of your opinion, such as “money can not do everything, but without money, nothing can be done. ”Money is quite important in our daily life, but it can’t be the standard of success. B: So what do you think is the measure of success? A: There can be many standards, for example, one’s happiness, reputation, and his contribution to the society. B:Of course your words are right. However, without money, one person can’t gain happiness, reputation, or contribute to the whole society. Look at the newspaper, you can see famous stars donate money to charities. They use expensive, high quality products, they live in the wonderful life and they are the represent of the word “success”. A: That’s just one aspect of the whole society. Don’t you know there are many famous people, who have huge amount of money, were put in to the prison ? Their money were came from the illegal way. Do you still think that they are success? Wealth can’t be the measure of success. Maybe you admire the people who are rich and have high status now, but please wait. 5 years, 10 years, maybe 20 years, time will tell you
