Step 1 Warming up
1. Check the homework.
2. Read the new words.
(1)Read the new words together. (加强读音训练)
(2)Ask some individuals to read the new words. (检查预习情况,发现读音问题,正音)
Step 2 Leading in
Show some pictures on the big screen and present the conversation. 找出三名影视明星(姚明、刘德华、潘长江)来做比较教tall、short和of medium height,引出句型:
What does he look like? He’s really tall. 姚明(tall)
What does he look like? He is short. 潘长江(short)
What does he look like? He is of medium height. 刘德华(of medium height)。
(目的:创设情境,增加教学的直观性和趣味性,激发学生学习兴趣,了解人物的外貌特征。)
Step 3 Presentation
1.用另一组明星图片为例教heavy和 thin。
(1) What does he look like? He is heavy.
(2) What does he look like? He is thin.
2.教授What does she look like? She has long/short hair.
What does she look like? She has curly/ straight hair. She has long straight hair.
3. Make up sentences.
4.Happy to read .通过阅读小短文小结前面所学知识点并引出glasses.
Step 4 Practice
1. Make a conversation like this:
A: I like YangMi very much. Do you know her?
B: No, what does she look like?
A: She is very beautiful. She has long straight black hair.
B: Is she tall or short?
A: She isn’t tall or short. She is of medium height.
2. Match the words with the people in the picture. (1a)
