Nuclear power is an attractive way to solve the energy dilemma. There are so many pressurized water reactors (PWR) have been built. So much nuclear waste have been produced every year. We need a system to do with nuclear waste. The accelerator driven system (ADS) is a potential option of a transmutation system in terms of the partitioning and transmutation strategies for the radioactive waste in the advanced nuclear fuel cycle. What’s more, a natural circulation cooled reactor thermal-hydraulic calculation model had been built up by I Time: 30 seconds(1:20~1:50) Say: Let’s see the feature of CLEAR-I.PWR’s coolant is water. Different from PWR,CLEAR-I use lead-bismuth as coolant. lead-bismuth has high heat transfer coefficient and large heat capacity. CLEAR-I is a research reactor, which is not intersecting in power generation or high neutron flux. So it’s power only have 10MWth.Using natural circulation, the system is more safety. Time: 30 seconds(1:50~2:10) Say: This is the structure of our CLEAR-I reactor. CLEAR-I is a pool-type reactor using a cylindrical heat barrier to divide the PbBi pool into a hot pool and a cold pool. The primary coolant is driven by natural circulation. So, we do not need pumps. Time: 20 seconds(2:20~2:40) Say: The model is complex. We use Boussinesq approximation to simplify models and assumes that the riser and down comer are adiabatic.
