Let the students know something about the earthquakes. b.Training the students’ reading ability: Fast reading, detailed reading and word–guessing skills. c.Enable the students to talk about what they should do in a disaster for themselves. 2. 语言目标(language aim) a. Words and expressions earthquake, shake, destroy, rescue, trap, bury, dig out... b. Training the students’ speaking skills 二、 教学重难点(Teaching important points) Let the students know what a correct attitude towards a disaster is and what they should do in a disaster. 三、 教学方法 (Teaching method) a. Discussing b. Talking c. Activities. 四、 教具准备 (Teaching Aids) Multi-media computer Teaching procedures: Step1. Review Review the new words and expressions Step2. Lead-in Show some pictures about the natural disasters and then show a short video about the earthquake to the students. Step3. Pre-Reading According to the video, ask students to get some information about the earthquake. Step4. While-reading I. Fast reading Ask students to read the test as fast as they can. After class discussion, ask students to answer the questions group by group. II. Listening and detailed reading Ask students to listen to the tape while reading the passage again and try to get more detailed information. After that, ask students to finish the exercises. Step5. Post-reading I. Self-rescue (a video game) Ask students to play a video game to learn how to save themselves. II. Show some pictures to students and ask them to speak out some sentences about what they should do if an earthquake happened. III.
