Module 4 Cultural corner class teaching design
Step I Lead in.
Share some beautiful pictures—
Ask Ss where the last picture it is and lead in the lesson by saying “Today we’ll come into the villages in Western Europe
Aims: To arouse the Ss’ interest in the new lesson and let students take part in the class activities actively.
Step II Learning aims.
Show Ss the learning aims and let Ss know what we will learn during the class.
Aims: Let Ss know the important words and language points of this class
Step III Revision
Let Ss underline the key phrases on the book , what’s more , correct the wrong phrases of the test paper. Then learn the difficult words , for example, disappearing ,livelier, lively remain afford survive contact uglier.
Aims: Check the Ss’ learning situation during the self-study part and help Ss learn the text better.
Step = 4 \* ROMAN IV Listening
Let Ss listen to the tape and pay attention to their pronunciation by saying“Now let us walk into the western Europe by listening to the tape.”
Aims: To help Ss correct their pronunciation by listening to the tape carefully and prepare for the reading of the next step.
Step V Fast reading
Let Ss read the text as quickly as possible, try their best to get the main idea of the text, then match the main idea with each paragraph.
Para.1 A. Reasons for the change of the villages.
Para.2 B. Hopes for the survival of the villages.
Para.3 C. The countryside is changing in western Europe.
Aims: To correct their pronunciation and train the Ss’ reading ability. And more importantly to train the Ss’ skimming ability. Let Ss understand the main idea of the text and prepare for the further reading.
Step VI Careful reading
Let Ss read the text paragraph by paragraph as carefully as possible and answer the questions related with each paragraph. The questions are as follows:
What the problem is the countryside facing?
Read Para.2 quickly and then decide the following stat
