1. Introduction With the development of economic globalization and information, English is becoming more and more important, and vocabulary is the basic unit of language. There is no value in a sentence without the existence of vocabulary. The purpose of this study is to explore how to apply situational approach to vocabulary teaching in junior high school. According to the current situation of English learning of vocabulary learners, we carry out the experimental study of situation teaching method in English vocabulary teaching in junior high schools and make a comparative analysis of the experimental data to understand the effects of situation teaching method on students vocabulary learning efficiency, memory effect, learning interest and comprehensive English. Based on this, this paper explores the implementation strategies and principles of situation approach in junior high school English vocabulary teaching. Theoretical significance of this study: Lexical memorization is an important part of vocabulary teaching. Situation teaching method follows some principles of memorization in psychology. The first one is to pay attention to the content and nature of teaching activities. The second is to use effective methods. Psychological memory studies have shown that the effect of converting objects of memory into objects of activity is much better. A certain amount of memory methods can also improve the effect of memory. Generally speaking, meaningful memory is better than simple mechanical repetition. In terms of information processing theory, the memorization is coding, If the system inputs information according to its own understanding, the coding effect is naturally the best. From the perspective of the physical and mental development rules of teenagers, junior high school students have the desire and curiosity to learn new knowledge in order to help them master vocabulary better. 2.
