After reading it, different people have different views. This paper analyzes the attitude of life in this novel, telling men the ways to confront the world they live in. It also tells us how and what we need to react to the world. The paper begins with the general idea of the novel, Moby Dick, and uses the Bible to raise discussions on human beings. Then, it puts forward three different attitudes toward life: negative attitude, neutral attitude and active one, with each kind as a part. During each part, the paper links the attitude to the fitted characters in the novel, to express its idea clearly. Introduction Herman Melville is best known as the author of one book, Moby Dick which is, critics have agreed, one of the world’s greatest masterpieces. He was a dedicated literary artist.
