诗歌翻译中的理解与表达 一、引言 诗歌的翻译难 , 这是公认的事实。如果把翻译比作戴着镣铐 跳舞,那么诗歌的翻译就要求舞者不仅能跳舞 , 而且要舞的美妙 , 舞的动人。诗歌翻译之所以难 , 是因为诗歌是一种特殊的文学形 式。[1] 诗歌的语言是高度凝练简洁的 , 而且其形式也是音、形、 意的统一 ,有一方面翻译不到位 , 就是会大大降低原诗应有的风 采。 理解原诗歌的内容和意境是整个诗歌翻译过程的第一步 , 而大部分误译都是因为译者对原文的错误理解造成的。 没有正确 的理解 , 翻译传达的就不是原作的意思。要把诗歌这种文学作品 翻译成英文 , 对其理解不仅包括对词意和文化背景知识的理解 , 译者还要尽可能地将原作的神与形都传达给译语读者 , 要尽量接 近原诗的形式 , 这样才能把形象传译生动。 [2] 二、《关雎》及其译本 《诗经》又称《诗三百》 , 由三百零五首诗歌组成 , 是我国历 史上第一部诗歌总集。 作为我国文学灿烂的第一页 , 以文字的形 式把诗歌整理记载流传下来。 而《关雎》作为《诗经》开篇之手 , 反映了一名男青年对一位容貌美丽姑娘的爱慕与追求 , 是我国爱 情诗之祖 ,全诗除了优美的意境 , 还具有独到的艺术特色。 对《诗经》的翻译始于 16世纪的西方传教士 , 而到了 20世 纪教会学术逐渐褪色 , 还《诗经》以文学作品的本来面目。 20 世纪最为突出的两个译本是英国传教士理雅格 （James Legge,1815-1897） 的 The Book of Odes 和英国汉学家阿瑟 ?韦利 （Arthur Waley,1889-1966） 的 Book of Songs 。 （一） 《关雎》 （国风?周南）的原文 关关雎鸠 , 在河之洲 窈窕淑女 , 君子好逑 参差荇菜 , 左右流之 窈窕淑女 , 寤寐求之 求之不得 , 寤寐思服 悠哉悠哉 , 辗转反侧 参差荇菜 , 左右采之 窈窕淑女 , 琴瑟友之 参差荇菜，左右?d之 窈窕淑女 , 钟鼓乐之 （ 二 ）James Legge 译本 Kwan-kwan go the ospreys, On the islet in the river.
