Why Feminists Hate Women’s Beauty Standards? Unknown Just recently a city in Argentina banned a beauty pageant. They justify it saying “it reinforces the idea that women must be valued on physical appearance.〞 It seems a consensus between feminists that beauty pageant “objectifies women and harms their body and self-esteem.〞 But is it really the reason they want so badly to ban these pageants? Is it really fair to destroy people’s freedom to participate or watch these pageants? It seems that every single time female beauty standards are shown, feminists are there to complain of “unrealistic ideology of beauty that harms women’s self-esteem.〞 Not only pageants, but their constant hate on old Disney characters, their despise to Barbie and to “ sexist shirts?objectifying Pinup girls〞 and their wish to impose a normal appearance for female characters in videogames. Beauty has always existed. A beautiful woman is appealing not only for men, but also for women. Personally, I’m a woman who loves looking at beautiful and sexy women — Images of pinup girls, I love the playful sensuality of Marilyn Monroe, the sexiness of Dita Von Teese and the cat expression of Angelina Jolie. I am not homosexual — beauty pleases everyone! It’s somehow like art or a beautiful landscape: something inexplicably pleasing. Unfortunately not all of us can have it, but everybody have their own positive traits. Getting offended by someone’s beauty can’t be named anything else but obvious envy.? Envying beautiful women comes from old times. Since the middle age women were burned for being beautiful or sexually liberated. One would think the mission of feminism would be defending women with high beauty standards and their freedom to display it, but NO! They offend them, boycott beauty pageants over and over, try to dismantle ideologies of beauty… everything that obviously show they don’t really care for women, but instead they want to defend their fragile egos.
