Doctors had to cut off most of his right leg. So he has only one leg. Every day Jeff put on an artificial leg(假肢).With the plastic artificial leg, Jeff could ski, ride a bicycle, swim, and play soccer. He could also run. Jeff made a pla n whe n he was 16 years old. He decided to run across America. When he was 22 years old, Jeff Keith ran across the United States from the east to the west. He started running in Bost on. Seve n mon ths later, he stopped running in Los An geles. He ran 3 , 200 miles. Jeff wore out thirty- six pairs of running shoes and five plastic artificial legs. In every city people gave Jeff mon ey. The money was not for Jeff, but for the America n Can cer Society. Jeff is disabled, but he can do many things. He finished college and studied to be a lawyer (律师).Jeff says, “ I want people to know that I ran not only for disabled people, but also I ran for everybody.
