MethodsFourteen cases of CVSOD confirmed by clinical data or surgical operation in our hospital from December 2001 to May 2004 were reviewed. The direct sig on different MRI sequences of plain scan， on 2D-TOF-MR Venography （MRV） and on con-trast enhanced MRI （CE-MRI） were analyzed. Twenty-nine cases with decreased flow-void in sinuses were served as the controls. ResultsExcept for T2weighted image （T2 WI）， the signal inteities were significantly different between the two groups on most of the sequences of plain scan， including T1weighted image （T1 WI）， fast liquid-attenuation inveion recovery （FLAIR） sequence， diffusion weighted imag （DWI） and MRV. The differences were most significant in T1 WI and DWI. Although the difference in sig-nal inteity was not significant between the two groups on CE-MRI， the shape of the defect was markedly different between the two groups. ConclusionOn plain scan， T2 WI is seitive to the decreased flow-void effect caused by CVSOD， but the signal change is less specific. T1 WI and DWI have the highest specificity in the diagnosis of the disease.
