* Next, I will present some results about the phase II clinical trials for CP in US. The phase II clinical trials for CP have been conducted in United States since 2008, and the result has been published by FDA of US on December in 2009. Totally 124 moderate chronic stable angina patients were enrolled in the phase II clinical trials. The results demonstrated that 187.5mg Dantonic? administered in a twice daily dosing regimen provided a significant therapeutic benefit on treadmill excise duration relative to placebo at trough on both the end of week 4 and week 8. the frequency of weekly angina decreased significantly in CP treatment group. * the changes in weekly on-demand nitrate intake on CP administration, which decreased in both high and low dose CP group. the safety of CP was also evaluated during the whole clinical trials. Compared to placebo, the rate of side effects, such as CHD symptoms, fatigue, headache, and indigestion, occurred much less at two CP dose groups. On the basis of the phase II clinical trials for CP, EOP2 meeting was held on July 23~24th in 2010 and a special protocol assessment is granted for the upcoming Phase III studies. * * * First of all, I will introduce the Cerebralcare Granule? briefly. I will use CG to stand for it in the following. CG is a newly developed compound Chinese Medicine which was approved in 1996 by the China State FDA for treatment of headache and dizziness associated with cerebrovascular diseases. CG is composed of eleven herbs. * * We first investigated the role of pre-treatment with CG in attenuating global cerebral microcirculatory disturbance and neuron injury in hippocampus CA1. cerebral global I/R was induced in Mongolian gerbils by clamping bilateral carotid arteries for 30 min followed by reperfusion.
