Function: Students learn to make polite requests and ask for permissi on.
Key vocabulary: rubbish, living room, sweep, do the dishes, take out t he rubbish, sweep the floor, fold your clothes, make the bed. stay out lat e, get a ride.
Target Language :-- Could you please sweep the floor? --Yes, sure.
--Could I please use the car? --No, you can’t. I have to go out.
Ability Objects: According to designing some tasks, train students’ liste ning skill and speaking skill.
Moral Objects: Remember to be polite when you ask for help, and to b e a good child.

V. Teaching procedure:
Step 1. Revision Warming-up
Greeting
Pre-class: Ask the students to translate the Chinese into the English. Step 2. Presentation
1Activity1a. How many chores do you usually do at home? Do you do these chores at home? Discuss them with your partner.
2Activity 1b Listening
Now look at the chart. There are three columns here, Chores,
Mom and Peter. Listen to the tape and answer: What chores doesPeter’ s mom do? What chores does Peter do? And finish the chart. Check the answers with the students.
Step 3: Listening
Activity 2a.The teacher asks students to be familiar with the content of the chart and think about the situation that is: everyone need some hel p or give some help. if someone can’t give any help, he must be reasona ble. Now play the recorder and let students to check what Peter’s father says, “Yes” or “No” with “√” by listening to the tape.
Activity 2b. The teacher asks students to look at the chart in 2a, and be
familiar with the content of the chart to make sure they should know w hat to do .Then ask students to listen to the tape and draw lines to the re asons why Peter’s father says “no” in the chart above. Then check the answers with students.
