Methods Sixty-five patients with CRF were randomly pided into the treated group (33 cases) and the control group (32 cases). Both groups were treated with low-protein diets， controlling hyperteion and symptomatic treatment. And Chinese drugs for warming Yang and inducing diuresis with removing blood stasis and clearing away turbidness were given additionally to the treated group. The time (month) for doubling serum creatinine (SCr) level was taken to evaluate the speed of CRF progression. Results In the treated group， the time for SCr increased from (±) μmol/L to (±) μmol/L was (±) months， while in the control group， the time for SCr increased from (±) μmol/L to (±) μmol/L was (±) months. Comparision between the tow groups showed significant difference (P). Conclusion On the basis of low-protein diets and controlling hyperteion therapy， the additional treatment of Chinese drugs for warming Yang and inducing diuresis with removing blood stasis and clearing away turbidness could markedly retard the progression speed of CRF。 Key words：chronic renal failure；warming Yang and inducing diuresis， removing blood stasis and clearing away turbidness；evaluation of speed 慢性肾功能衰竭(CRF)是各种慢性肾脏疾病持续发展的共同转归。CRF虽然病情进展缓慢，但从总体上讲，其病程一般是不可逆的，而且在病程的某一阶段可呈进行性发展和加重。如何对CRF进行早期防治，并延缓CRF的病情进展，降低尿毒症的发病率，已成为各国十分关注的一个问题。我国每年约有20万人加入CRF的行列。控制高血压、低蛋白饮食已被证明可延缓其肾功能减退的发展速度[1-2]，但其效果仍然很有限。近年来，我们对CRF早、中期患者采用温阳利水、化瘀泄浊法为主的中西医结合方法治疗，对延缓其进展具有较好的疗效
