Students can grasp the four skills phrases: dance ,sing English songs ,do kung fu, draw cartoons and play the pipa. 2. To master and use the sentence patterns:”What can you do? I can….”in a real situation. Teaching difficult points: The usage of the modal verb: can. Teaching methods: Situational teaching method Play method Communicative approach Teaching aids: word cards, multi-media player Teaching procedures: Step One Warm-up 1. Greetings T:Hello, boys and girls, how are you? S: Im fine, thank you.And you? T: Me too, thank you. 2. Enjoy a song:《what can you do》. Step Two Presentation Set a situation: Talent Show. T: There is a talent show. What can you do for it? lets join them. (1) Show a picture of dancing. T: Can you dance? S:Yes,I can. T:What can you do ? S:I can dance. Then teach the students to read:dance. (2) Then teach the other phrases in the same way by showing pictures. Step Three Practice 1.
