Method］Fivehundredsandforty-fourfeetin378casesofCCFweretreatedwithPonsetimethod.Accordingtotheagedifferences,they weredividedintoolderinfancygroup( ﹥6month,227feetin157 casesandyoungerinfancygroup （≤6month,317feetin221cases ）. ThedeformationdegreeofCCFwasevaluatedbythePiraniscoring system.Ascoringof0-0.5wasregardedasbEingexcellent.For eachgroup,weevaluatedthepercentageofexcellenceresult accordingtothePiraniscore,thenumberofcastsused,andthe percentageofpercutaneousachillotenotomy.Theresultwascompared betweenthetwogroups. ［Result］Theexcellencerateshowedno significantdifferencesbetweenthetwogroups(P ﹥0.05).Boththe numberofcastsusedandthepercentageofpercutaneous achillotenotomyintheyoungerinfancygroupweremorethanthatin theolderinfancygroup.Therewasobviousdifferencebetweenthetwo groups(P0.01).Twohundredsandfivepatients(303feet)inthe youngerinfancygroupandonehundredandforty-EIghtpatients(209 feet)intheolderinfancygroupwerefollowedupforanaverageof 29months.Fifty-sixfeetintheyoungerinfancygroupand40feetin theolderinfancygrouprelapsed.Thepercentageofrelapseshowedno differencebetweenthetwogroups.(P ﹥0.05). ［Conclusion］Using PonsetimethodcanachieveexcellentresultsforCCFininfantsolderthansix-monthandyoungerthansix-month.
