Warm-up Show some pictures. Do a guessing game. Ask and answer. What is she/he doing? Step 2. Presentation Talk about the picture on page62, learn the conversation. Focus on the key words and the structures. A: What are you doing. Tom? B: I’m drawing. A: What are you drawing? B: I’m drawing a ball. A: A ball? B: Look! It’s a football! A: But it looks like a basketball. B: Oh yes. It is a basketball. A: Ha-ha! Play the recording, read and repeat the conversation. Step 3. Drills Play the recording, do the part of “Let’s learn”. Step 4. Games Game1 One student is in the front, the other students draw some pictures. Then ask and answer. What are you doing? I am writing. No, you are not. Game2 Guessing game. What is she/he doing? Step 5. Practice Play the recording , do the part of “Listen and choose”. Play the recording , do the part of “Listen and say”. Play the recording , listen and read the story on Page 66. Then answer the questions. What day is it ? It is Sunday. What’s Mike doing? He is reading a book. What are Mum and Dad doing? They are working in the garden. Are Mike and Kate carrying water? Yes, they are. Are their parents watering flowers? Yes, they are. Are they happy? Yes, they are. Play it again and ask the students to repeat. And try to retell it. Step 6. Summary Read and repeat the key words. Go through the key structures. Step 7 Homework Recite the conversations on Page 62.
