1. Most Varian Medical Systems Software is designed to operate on the most common versions of Windows operating systems. Windows-based workstations are often used to run other applications such as or word processing. All of these workstations will be on a network and many of these workstations will have Inte connectivity. This environment is susceptible to the transmission of computer es. By default, Inte Explorer is luded with the Windows operating system software and gets loaded onto every workstation. At this time, Varian has no to restrict the use of Inte software. However, Varian Medical Systems strongly discourages the use of such software on mission critical workstations listed below. Many of Varian’s software applications require constant feedback and communication from within th work architecture. Having anti- software configured to automatically run and update itself (“real-time” mode) can interfere with thi work communication. Therefore, Varian Medical Systems requires that anti- software not be configured in a “real-time” mode on any of the following Varian products: • Acuity Workstation • VariSeed Workstation • 4D Integrated Treatment Console • On-Board Imager (OBI) Workstation • SomaVision Workstation • G Med Workstation • MLC Workstation • VariSource Workstation
