levelrise.Itmaynotapplytoentitieswheresuchassessmentandriskmanagementisalreadywidely

availablethroughstandardsetsofguidance,suchastheconstructionofgreenbuildings.Thisguide

providesavoluntaryframeworkoftheriskmanagementoptionsandstepsthatmaybebeneficialto

evaluateclimateresiliencysolutions.Itprovidesstrategiesforexistingorganizations,eventhose

currentlyoperatingoutsideofvariousvoluntaryandregulatoryschemes.Theenvironmental

assessmentandriskmanagementstrategiescontainedinthisguiderecognizetheoverallvalueof

existingresponses.Thisguidereferencesandblendssimilar,effectiveprogramsandextendsthemto

provideaconsistentapproachthatwillfacilitatecommunicationandpreparationforextremeweather

events.
