brightandearlyonemorning.Thedrivetookustwowholedays,
butitwassomuchfun.WeplayedISpy,toldjokesandfunny
stories,andsangalongtoourfavoritesongsatthetopofour
lungs.Everyfewhours,wedstoptostretchourlegs,usethe
restroom,andgrabsomefood.Ilovedseeingallthedifferent
cities,landscapes,andpeopleaswedroveacrossthecountry.
WhenwefinallymadeittoYellowstone,itwasevenbetter
thanIimagined.OurfirststopwasthefamousOldFaithful
geyser.Westakedoutaspotaboutanhourbeforeitwas
supposedtoeruptandeagerlywaited.Rightonschedule,Old
Faithfulsentamassivestreamofboilinghotwatershootingup
over180feetintotheair!Thepowerandnoiseoftheeruption
wasincredible.Overthenextfewdays,wewenthikingthrough
theforestsandvalleys,sawtonsofdifferentanimalslikebison,
elk,andevenagrizzlybear(fromasafedistanceofcourse!),took
aguidedtourthroughsomesupercoolcavesandcanyons,and
wentswimminginanaturalhotspring.Ihadneverseenanything
likeYellowstonebefore–thebrightcolorsofthesprings,the
uniquegeologicalfeatures,andtheamazingwildlife.Itsaplace
Illneverforget.
AfteraweekinYellowstone,weheadedoffforournext
destination–thebeachesofHawaii!Wetradedinhikingboots
forflipflopsandparkasforswimsuits.MylittlebrotherandI
couldhardlycontainourexcitementastheplanelanded
