LeonardodaVinci(1452-1519)wasanItalianpolymath(博学大师),butismostwell-knownasapainter.FamouspaintingsincludeMonaLisaandTheLastSupper.Heisseenasanexampleof“Renaissanceman”,apersonwhoseskillsanddesireforknowledgeanddevelopmentknownobounds.

ClaudeMonet(1840—1926),wasaFrenchpainterwhowastheinitiator(创始人),leader,andunswerving(坚定的)advocateoftheImpressioniststyle.Famouspaintingsinclude:Wheatstacks(干草堆，Sunrise(日出),Waterlilies(睡莲).
