ABSTRACT

Intoday’sdigitalage,socialmediahasbecomeanindispensablepartofpeople’slives.

Whilethewidespreaduseofsocialmediahasbroughtconveniencetoourlives,ithasalso

graduallyerodedthephysicalandmentalhealthofyoungpeople,causingadverseeffects.

ThisreportisbasedonthetranslationpracticeofthefirsttofifthsectionsofDigitalMadness.

Thebookwaspublishedin2022andaimstoexplorethecrisesbroughtaboutbysocialmedia

forindividualsandsociety.Thebookanalyzestheprinciplesbehindtheaddictivenatureof

socialmediaandproposespracticalandeffectivesolutions.Inthefirstfivesections,the

authorpresentstheharmsofsocialmediathroughalargenumberoffactualcasesandpoints

outtheproblemsfacingsocietytoday.Thetranslatoraimstomakedomesticreadersmore

awareofthepotentialimpactofsocialmediaonphysicalandmentalhealthandbevigilant

aboutthecrisesinthedigitalsocietythroughthetranslationofthisbook.

characteristicsofEnglishadverbsthemselvesand,guidedbytheskopostheory,organizesand

analyzestheuseofadverbsintheselectedtext.Usingspecifictranslationexamples,the

translatoremploystechniquessuchastransformation,inversion,anddivisiontodealwith

adverbsintheST,makingthetranslationmorenatural,fluent,concise,andinformativeto

effectivelyconveytheinformationoftheoriginaltextandservethepurposeofalerting
