Technologicaladvancementhasbeenprogressivelyincorporatedintothefieldof

translationandinterpreting.Onesuchtechnology,AutomaticSpeechRecognition(ASR),a

productoftheArtificialIntelligence(AI)industry,isconsideredtohavethepotentialto

revolutionizetheimplementationofinterpretingpractices.Relatedstudiessofarhaveindicated

thatASRhasapositiveimpactoninterpreterperformanceacrossvariousmeasurements,

particularlyinsimultaneousinterpreting.Surprisingly,onlyasmallpercentageofinterpreters,

includingprofessionalsandstudents,currentlymakeuseofASRintheirinterpretingsessions,

despitetheabundanceofdifferentASRtoolsavailableinthemarket.Inaddition,whatmodes

ofASRassistancecanbetterhelpimproveinterpreters’deliverydeservesfurtherexploration.

TheaimofthisstudyistodeterminehowdifferentmodesofASRassistanceemployed

affectsstudentinterpreters’interpretingperformance,aswellasexaminetheperceptionsand

utilizationofvariousmodesofASRsupportamongthem.Specifically,mode1concentrateson

terminologyandnumericalinformation,whilemode2incorporatesareal-timerunningscript

withnearlyalltextprovided.Theexperimentconsistsofthreeexperimentalmeasures,

combiningbothqualitativeandquantitativemethods.Initially,participantsareaskedto

completetwoconsecutiveinterpretingtasksseparatelythatrevolvearoundtechnology-related

topics,utilizingtwodistinctmodesofASRsupport.Aftertheexperiment,participantsare

administeredaquestionnaireandinterviewedindetailtogainacloserlookattheirinterpreting

processandpreferences.

TheirfeedbackisanalyzedbasedonTechnologyAcceptanceModel(TAM).Thestudy’s
