In2025,theglobaleconomicenvironmentremainedcomplexandchallenging,markedbyfrequenttradefrictions,thespilloverefectsofgeopoliticalrisks,andmountingpressureontheglobaleconomicrecovery.Meanwhile,China’seconomyisundergoingdeepeningre-formasitcontinuestotransitionfromoldtonewdriversofgrowth,withtheaimoftransformingitseconomyfromaninvestment-drivenmodeltoaconsumption-drivenone.Againstthisbackdrop,AmChamChinamembercompanieshaveshownstrongoperationalresilience.Surveyresultsindicateanimprovementinoverallfinancialperfor-mance,with52%ofrespondingcompaniesexpectingtobeprofit-able,up6percentagepoints(pp).

AstableandconstructiveUS-Chinarelationshipremainscrucialforthevastmajorityofourmembercompanies,with83%ofsurveyre-spondentshighlightingtheimportanceofpositivebilateralrelationstotheiroperationsinChina.FollowingtheconstructivemeetingofthetwoheadsofstateinKoreaattheendof2025,bothsideshavemain-tainedclosecommunicationaimedatstabilizingbilateraleconomicandtraderelations.Members’expectationsforbilateralrelationshaveimprovedsignificantly,withapproximately79%ofrespondentsholdingapositiveorneutraloutlookforUS-Chinarelationsin2026.

Lookingaheadto2026,respondingcompaniesanticipatemoderateoverallgrowthwithdivergentperformanceacrosssectors.GrowthexpectationsintheTechnologyandRDsectorhaveweakened,whileconfidenceintheConsumersectorhasreboundedtosomeextent.ConcernsoverChina’sslow
