TheprimarypurposeofLogixViewVersion3.3istohelpreduceHMIdevelopmenttime

byintegratinginformationfromanRSLogix5000controllerfilewithHMIproject

components.Itisanengineeringworkstationsoftwarethatisintendedtocomplementthe

useofRSLogix5000andFactoryTalkViewStudio.

LogixViewVersion3.3consistsofthefollowingttools:

1.TagDescriptionExportandImportTool.TheRSLogix5000controllertag

descriptioniscommonlyconfiguredwithtaginformation(e.g.,taglabel,tag

descriptor,engineeringunit,drawingnumber,etc.).LogixViewcanextractthe

informationfromthecontrollerfilebasedonuser-definedfieldformats(e.g.,thetag

descriptioncanbeviewedascontainingseveralfields,witheachfieldseparatedbya

delimiter–tab,carriage-return,etc.).LogixViewusesthetaglabel,tagdescriptor,

andengineeringunitsintheothertools.

TheLogixViewtagdescriptiontoolexportsselectedtagdescriptionsintoatextfile.

Thetextfilecanbeeditedusingatexteditororspreadsheetprogram(e.g.,

Excel).TheeditedfilecanbeimportedbacktotheRSLogix5000controllerACD

file.
