1.Scope

agenciestestingand/orinspectingmaterialsusedinconstruc-

tionandwhichareprimarilyassembledonthejobsite.

1.1Thispracticeprovidesaguidefortheinformationtobe

obtainedandprovidesspeci?crecommendedcriteriaforevalu-

atingthecapabilitiesofanagencytoconductinspectionsand

testsandtoreportontestsperformedinaccordancewith

ASTMstandardsprimarilyonfactorybuiltcomponentsand

assemblies.

1.2Thecriteriainthisstandarddescribethebasicinforma-

tionusedinjudgingthecapabilityofanagencytoperformits

intendedfunctionsobjectivelyandcompetentlyaswellasto

disclosepossiblecon?ictsofinterestjudgedfromthestand-

pointoftheuserofthisstandard.Testing,approval,and

certi?cationofacompany’sownproductsandservicesbyits

owntestingagencydoesnotnecessarilyconstituteacon?ictof

interest.
