Introduction This thesis intends to study some methods of promoting middle school students’ spoken English in terms of question-answer techniques. Two aspects account for why the author means to study this field. The first is the significance of promoting middle school students’ spoken English. The significance of promoting high school students’ spoken English may be stated as follows: first, it is the prior task of English subject in middle schools advancing students’ oral English because the elementary purpose of learning English is to communicate with English-speaking people; secondly, high school students’ good spoken English helps them hunt better jobs in the future; thirdly, an enormous number of middle school graduates’ rather fine English can attract far more foreign investors and tourists to come to China, which accelerates Chinese development. The second is that most of China’s high school students speak quiet poor English. Therefore, this research on such topic is important and significant for the Junior Middle English teaching and learning. This thesis can be divided into four parts. The first part is the introductory session, which presents the purpose and significance of this study, and then the framework of this thesis is stated. In Party II, two kinds of theories are introduced. One is the psycholinguistic interactionist and the other is the social interactionist; and their roles on the second language acquisition. As for the speaking skills and what the teacher and the students should do in the interaction classroom, we come to the next section, that is, the effect of speaking to the successful second language acquisition. Then the relationship between the teacher’s question and the students’ speaking proficiency is discussed, including the classification of the teacher’s questions and the interaction among the students and the teachers in the English classroom, a
