Therefore, many scholars began to study on this topic. For example, Liu Yuhua wrote an article named A Study of the Translation of Names of Scenic Spots from the Perspective of Culture. In her article, she introduced that?“cultural turn” 1 in the field of translation study. Then the features and functions of names of scenic spots are summarized. The problems about scenic spot translation are pointed out and some translation methods are put forward with the purpose of improving the quality of translating names of scenic spots, enhancing the image of scenic spots, and promoting the development of tourism. Besides, Li Pei’e, department of foreign languages in Wuhan Institute of Technology in Wuhan, wrote Translation of the Names of Scenic Spots. In this paper, he held that the names of scenic spots should be translated in the light of the translation principle applied to the translation of toponymy. In addition, Shen Yifang, Hunan University in Changsha in Hunan, she wrote a Paper named On English Translation of Zhangjiajies Scenic Spots Introduction: A Perspective of Christiane Nords Functionalist Translation Approach. She held that the English translation of Zhangjiajies scenic spots introduction plays a vital part in attracting the overseas tourists as well as publicizing the natural landscape and local customs of Zhangjiajie. This paper applies Nord’s functionalist translation theory to the exploration of it, finding some linguistic and cultural problems in it and putting forward some constructive suggestions accordingly.The Chinese-English translation problems of natural scenic spots include the problems of the names of natural scenic spot as well as proper names of places.
