Economically a market-oriented economy, resource scarcity, but there is rapid economic development. The insurance market of Turkey had an impressive growth during the recent years but its size is still very small, mainly due to low insurance density and an equally low rate of penetration. These two factors offer abundance of opportunities for the market growth. This article, by using statistical data, from the various indicators which measure a countrys insurance market has developed (e.g.: premiums, insurance density, insurance penetration and other indicators), analysis the insurance market of Turkey. to know the development trend of the insurance market of it, and by comparing to the average level of other European countries, especially by comparing to the average level of Central and Eastern European countries, to carry out the forecast of the development of insurance industry in Turkey.
