Many linguists and scholars have studied this linguistic phenomenon from the perspectives of rhetoric, semantics, pragmatics and sociology. Thus, on the basis of others’ researches, this thesis attempts to do a comprehensive analysis of English euphemisms and Chinese euphemisms by comparatively analyzing their linguistic and cultural characteristics. To study the differences can help us study English and translate successfully, remove the barriers during communication with different cultures. At the same time, to strengthen cultural communication can help us understand the likeness and differences of the two Euphemisms.
