And the monitoring, dispatch and management of the buses have become an important issue for the transportation system. The Vehiclemounted GPS ( Global Positioning System) Intelligent Busstop Announcement System is a software platform based on GPS, GIS ( Geographic Information System) and wireless communication techniques. It is dedicated to bus monitoring and dispatch, providing realtime monitoring and scientific dispatch of buses and minimizing the accident rate. The operating principle, structure and functions of the Vehiclemounted GPS Intelligent Busstop Announcement System as well as institutional arrangement for ensuring normal and effective operation of GPS are introduced.
