The Tragic Fates of the Typical Females and its Causes in Eileen Chang’s Novels Abstract: Eileen Chang was the most popular female writer in 1940s. She paid attention to women and sympathized for their fates. She described many tragic female characters with her unique perception and keen insight. This paper mainly discusses the tragic fates of typical females in Eileen Chang’s novels and its causes. First, it describes the tragic fates of three female images from three works.
