It is found that the preservice teachers understanding of teaching, her understanding of the students, and her confidence in herself as a teacher evolved in a dynam ic developm ental process. H er teacher know ledge, teaching skills and reflective ability all developed to a large extent. This study has provided a useful opportunity for teacher educators to better understand the process ofhow a student teacherm oves from a student to a teach er, w hat characterizes such a process, andw hat problem s or difficulties the student teachersm ay encounter, and how such problem s can be solved.
