Methods Silicon oil suspension containin 0.9% sodium chloride w ere injected intravenously to the rabbit bodies by 3, 6 and 9 times respectively. All rabbits w ere killed after 4 w eeks and the fresh specimens of the lun w ere prepared for histopatholo ical study. Results The lun injuries to various extents w ere observed due to dif- ferent times of intravenous injection w ith silicon oil suspension. T he major macroscopic presentations were pulmonary consolidation involvin on e or more lobes of the lun , w ith reddish brow n appearance lik e lobar pneumon ia.
