Abstract The “diplomacy” people talk of is the modern diplomacy coming into being th at the end of 18 , and it refers to dealing with the international relations. The scholars in the diplomatic science field have defined “diplomacy” in the narrow sense, and the research has being carried out in focus on the formal diplomacy, while the informal diplomacy usually stays out of the sight of the scholars. However, on the international politics stage informal diplomacy exists in the practice and plays an important role. Thus its influences on the diplomacy should be paid much attention. The informal diplomacy is classified into two sorts: civilian diplomacy and “corridor diplomacy”. “corridor diplomacy” defined in the essay actually refers to that the diplomats engage in the foreign affairs in the informal occasions or in the informal ways. “Corridor diplomacy” symbolizes the dynamic, active informal diplomacy abounding in certain diplomatic technique and means.
