I am grateful to Professor Gu Yueguo for editing us such a good course. Last but not the least, many thanks to my students and classmates, without whose willing participation in the project implementation it would have remained on paper. Abstract This paper presents a detailed report of a project implemented to solve the problem that some of my students can not understand and memorize the new words well. It is hypothesized that learner’s interest in studying vocabulary in class can be increased by well-designed work with useful teaching aids. In class I can use the teaching pictures, word cards and objects to teach the new words. And I also play much useful games with students to promote their awareness and understanding of the new content. Then use the English songs and chants to consolidate. This hypothesis is verified by four weeks practice of the specially designed teaching activities. The methods of scientific investigation used in this project include socratic dialogue, cause analysis, brainstorming and diaries.
