    The Asset Accounting Information System consists of a report tree. This is a freely definable hierarchical structure. It contains standard reports for asset accounting and is provided by SAP. You can copy this tree and modify it as needed remove/add branches of the structure add/replace standard or customer-defined reports in a node. The system always displays the report tree that is currently defined. By assigning a user-defined tree, the reports of this tree are shown in the FI-AA Information System. All the reports in the Info System are pre-defined with report variants. You can create new variants and enter them in the report tree. Ad-hoc reports (queries) are also included in the Info System. They offer a wide range of further processing options.  The asset value display offers extensive possibilities for evaluating individual asset master records. By entering the sub-number ”*”, you can request cumulative evaluations for a main number and the sub-numbers belonging to it. The menu ”Edit Display depreciation calculation” provides a detailed display of the calculation of depreciation in the system. The menu ”Goto All values” shows planned and posted values and up to which period depreciation has been posted. It also shows other depreciation data. You can simulate the value development for future years. You can also simulate different depreciation terms and transactions. You can start reports from within the asset value display transaction. You specify the reports (with different selection versions) that can be started from the asset value display ( IMG Information System). The short texts of the value fields are maintained in the Implementation Guide ( ”Information System, Configure asset value display”).  Simulation, in this context, refers to an experimental change to parameters affecting the valuation of assets.
