Service industry is of vital importance to the prosperity of the economy. Guangdong province has been enjoying the high speed of the national economy mainly relying on the growth of service economy. However, compared with several other developed provinces and cities in our country, the regional competitiveness of service industry in Guangdong needs improving. Based on the statistical dates, this thesis compares the development of service industry of Guangdong with that of Beijing ，Shanghai, Tianjin, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shandong from the perspectives of the level of development, the growth potential, the economic foundation, the public environment of the service industry. By the comparison we can draw a conclusion: Guangdong’s service development does not assort with its economic development. Furthermore, we analyze the key factors influencing Guangdong’s regional competitiveness of service and give suggestions on how to solve the problems, aiming at providing some ad
